The following are required by law if your trailer is over 80":

Wiring the Trailer1. Pull connector end of trailer wiring harness through trailer tongue until it projects 12" beyond the front edge of the coupling.
2. Connect WHITE ground wire to the trailer frame.
3. Mount BROWN-YELLOW wire of the trailer harness on LEFT (driver) side of trailer frame with black plastic or metal wire frame clips. Tap the BROWN wire to connect front left side light marker at the most convenient point either by splicing the wires or by using scotch lock.
4. At left rear corner of the trailer, cut off excess wire if necessary, allowing sufficient length to connect the harness to the tail lights.
5. Strip end of YELLOW and BROWN wire 1/2 inch.
6. Insert stripped end of YELLOW wire into hole on the back of the LEFT tail light marked STOP LT.- YELLOW. (Some tail lights come prewired.)
7. Insert stripped end of BROWN wire into the hole on the back of the LEFT tail light marked TAIL LIGHTBROWN. (Trailers over 80 inches wide will also require a light bar).
8. Mount BROWN-GREEN wire of the trailer harness on RIGHT (passenger) side of trailer frame with black plastic of metal wire frame clips. Tap the BROWN wire to connect front right side light marker at the most convenient point either by splicing the wires or by using a scotch lock.
9. At right rear corner of the trailer, cut off excess wire if necessary, allowing sufficient length to connect the harness to the tail lights.
10. Strip ends of GREEN and BROWN wires 1/2 inch.
11. Insert stripped end of GREEN wire into the hole on the back RIGHT tail light marked STOP-RT.-GREEN.
12. Insert stripped end of BROWN wire into the hole on the back of the right tail light marked TAIL LIGHTBROWN.
Trailer with Plastic or Aluminum Boat Guides
These trailers hold trailer lights away from frame and require a special ground wire from back of light to trailer frame. (Wire Not Provided).
Specific Ground Wiring Tips
If after hooking up your vehicle to your newly rewired trailer and any of the below listed things occur, check ground wire on vehicle and trailer.
1. Turn on running lights
Turn on signal
-If all the lights flicker or blink
2. Turn on running lights
Step on brake
-If tail lights go out
3. Turn on signal
-If fuse blows on car or all the lights flicker
4. If only one turn signal caused these problems check and make sure that light is properly grounded.
Tilt Trailers
Require a special ground hook up. Run ground wire (white) through tongue to metal frame. Drill hole and connect ground wire securely with screw and a ring clamp connector. (Wire Not Provided).

These trailers hold trailer lights away from frame and require a special ground wire from back of light to trailer frame. (Wire Not Provided).
Utility Trailers with Wooden Side Rails
These trailers hold trailer lights away from frame and require a special ground wire from back of light to trailer frame. (Wire Not Provided).
Aluminum Trailers
For best results, wire each light directly to the plug on front of trailer. (Wire Not Provided).
Electrical Information

Special Notes
Use 12 GA wire when hooking up brakes. These wiring diagrams are standard, not all trailers or vehicles are wired standard. Converters are used on foreign and domestic vehicles for converting separate turn and stop lights to standard trailer tail light wiring systems.
